Which helper is this?

Prepared hints and AI are different

The prepared hint guide uses local rules and saved teaching material. It is not a live AI conversation. Online AI features have their own label and availability controls.

For the tutor and the family copilot, Microsoft Foundry selects an allowed teaching move or guidance card. Wise Sparks checks that selection and displays prepared wording or authorized recorded facts; these helpers do not show model-written replies. The Architect copilot is different: it writes its own replies for The Architect, from read-only platform lookups, and it can be wrong. The separate report reader produces structured draft findings that require source review; a quotation is not proof that its interpretation is correct.

Availability depends on the specific feature and account. A source-code implementation or a policy page does not mean a feature has been enabled for your child.

Helpful does not mean infallible

AI can misunderstand what you mean, choose the wrong kind of help or miss an important detail. Prepared content and recorded evidence can also contain errors. Wise Sparks cannot promise that every explanation will be correct.

Use the helper to think through a problem. Check an uncertain explanation with the lesson, a teacher or a trusted adult. If you spot a mistake, use Help & ideas and include the reply reference when one is shown.

Practice activity is not a diagnosis, an official grade or proof of mastery. Adult copilots should explain the evidence and its limits, rather than decide what a child is capable of.

What an AI request shares

Sparki · Learning companion uses your submitted text, selected grade, the chosen lesson and kind of help. Family requests use your submitted text and descriptions of available guidance cards. Architect requests use the open conversation and the results of read-only lookups: aggregate counts, statuses and review-queue titles, never children’s names or private message text. Those tutor and copilot integrations do not automatically attach school report files, organizer photos or private ticket bodies. The separate report reader receives extracted PDF text or a cleaned screenshot only after an authorized adult requests processing, including personal details still visible in that source. Private information pasted into a question can still be sent.

Keep names, contact details, passwords, private records and other people’s information out of your question. The platform removes some known profile details, but that does not guarantee anonymity.

Tutor and copilot request tables keep limited operational metadata rather than raw model questions or replies. Report analysis is different: its original, extracted source, structured model findings and human review are stored privately for evidence review and practice planning. Other features, including the prepared helper and support tickets, can save their text. Feedback does not silently retrain a model.

Microsoft Foundry processing

Microsoft is the AI service provider for these integrations. Its published terms distinguish model inference from training, storage and abuse monitoring. Some requests can be reviewed for potential abuse; no blanket zero-retention promise is made here.

Processing location depends on the deployment and service configuration. An East US 2 resource name alone does not guarantee every processing operation stays in that region. Provider settings and terms need review before a new AI feature is activated.

A companion for learning, with people nearby

Sparki is an AI study companion, not a person. It can be warm and encouraging without asking for secrets, exclusive friendship or continued use. Take breaks whenever you want; keep learning with the people in your life.

The helper is not an emergency, medical or mental-health service. If something feels unsafe or upsetting, speak with a trusted adult. For immediate danger, get help from someone nearby or local emergency services.

People decide what changes

The AI roles do not independently change accounts, family permissions, official reports, points or support outcomes. Any future research assistant must propose material for review; it must not publish new lessons directly to students.

Reading or acknowledging this notice is not a substitute for parental consent where required. The platform operator must complete the applicable notice, consent, provider and quality checks before a child AI pilot begins.
